Aydemir Saidov was born in 1979 in a small town in a southern Russia. His father Seyfulla Saidov was an award winning artist, member of the prestigious Union of Russian Artists, and leader of the local art community.  His father ignited an interest in art in his son and encouraged creative activities. Aydemir embraced being the son of a famous artist. At age three painted a goat that is in the family archives as one of the most important pieces. It is housed with his father’s medals and accommodations.

At age eleven, he was accepted into a special school for gifted children in art. He became the star of the school and won all competitions and juried shows. At 15, Saidov was accepted into the Krasnodar Art Junior College and continued to win juried shows.  In 2000, Aydemir graduated with honors from the Junior College and was accepted into the St Petersburg Academy of Fine Art.  In 2005, he won a countrywide competition of drawings and received First Prize.  In 2006, Aydemir graduated with honors.

During his studies, to pay for his education, Aydemir sold his portraits, still-lifes an landscapes in the galleries of St. Petersburg. He often went to southern Russia to make sketches of interesting landscapes. This is where he met his wife Marina Marina. They met while painting plein air, both painting the same scenery.

In 2007, Aydemir received an offer to work with Christie’s Fine Art Auctions of London. He has a standing contract with Christie’s to present day. In 2009, Aydemir showed in the “Portal Nu” exhibition in the Romanov Fine Art Museum in Kostroma, Russia. In 2010, in the famous “Fall Exhibition” in the St Petersburg Union of Artists, he showed his nude and semi-nude figurative paintings. In 2011, he was chosen for “Artists of Russia to Watch” exhibition.  In 2013, his work was displayed with the most important Russian figurative artists in “Body from Olympics to Olympics” exhibition.  Paintings by Saidov are now in museums in Russia as well as in private collections in Great Britain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Australia, China and the US
