Working alongside the finest craftsmen of the day, Alexander absorbed a wealth of knowledge that served him throughout his life, and his enthusiasm and flair for his craft resulted in him starting his own business in 1979.
Alexander G. Ley and Son’s business was undoubtedly the largest and most comprehensive of any in their specialised field. Their clientele included museums, national art collections, The National Trust, fine art dealers, antique dealers, picture restorers, auction houses, interior designers, artists and discerning private collectors worldwide. They employed craftspeople from all over Europe to make and restore thousands of frames to the highest quality.
